[SAN FRANCISCO] “Apocalypse Near“, a first novel by screenwriter Eric Haase won first place at The Green Book Festival in the electronic / interactive book category. The book combines the true account of Haase’s clinical death experience with cyberpunk science fiction elements & interactive media (animation, film clips & dynamic web pages). The author created the online media to intensify the book’s message about environmental predicaments, why they may be occurring & what he learned while clinically dead that could help avert further catastrophe.
