Boycott All Casey Anthony Media Profiteering
8:52 pm in Consumer Ethics & Morality by E.
I know that I’ve mostly posted articles concerning the environment in this community and have failed to keep with the broader mission of this website which is to harness consumer power to demand high standards of ethics across the wider range of issues where consumption behaviors can have an effect in the world of business, politics and culture. The recent failure of the American criminal justice system with respect to to the death of two year old Caylee Anthony has reminded me of my original intentions for The Conscious Consumers’ Community.
I decided I would take a stand to do whatever I could to prevent Casey Anthony from personally profiting from the death of her daughter the minute I saw her first post-acquittal TV appearance where she let her hair down, smiled and posed for the cameras. Her first act, (that of appearing respectable, downtrodden, & sad before jurors & cameras) was over and she was now back to her real self for her second act, (the self that was partying while her daughter lay in a shallow grave). I’m asking the members of the Conscious Consumers’ Community to join me on a quest to prevent Casey Anthony from gaining any more fame or money through the death of her daughter.
I propose a consumer boycott against any company & their sponsors that pay Casey Anthony for anything related to death of her daughter. This boycott will exist until it is proven beyond the shadow of a reasonable doubt exactly how a 2 year old girl wound up in a shallow grave with tape covering her mouth & whomever put her there is brought to justice. I want to send a message to any broadcaster, network or other media company & their sponsors that the idea of Casey Anthony gaining profit or fame through the death of her daughter is abhorrent to the members of this community & we will boycott all their programming & sponsors.
Please comment if you agree with me on this issue &/or become a member of this community & post a profile where you can share your own views on this or any consumer issue so we the consumers can stand together to have an effect on the media ‘CULTure’.
